Prof. Paul Otasowie of the Department of Electrical Electronics Engineering, University of Benin, Edo State has been shot dead by suspected hired assassins.

He was shot dead last night while driving into his compound in the Ekehuan area of the state by unknown gunmen.

Before his death, he was the past UBIT/SIWES Director at the university.

Confirming the incident, a colleague of the deceased, Amafe Jessica shares her condolences on Facebook.

“Why do good people die? I have cried and cried.

“Hoodlums shot my colleague, a father and humble friend Prof. Paul Otasowie of the Electrical Engineering Department of UNIBEN.

“I am thinking of relocating from this Benin, everyday different sad news.

“I am heart broken, my heart bleed in so much pains. Only time can heal my wound.”
