The agents of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), are presently scouting Nigeria for fighters.
This development was communicated by the Director General and Coordinator National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mike Omeri, who urged the public to remain vigilant and expose any of such activities.
This was disclosed in a statement made available by David Akoji, the Special Assistant to Omeri, who revealed that recent intelligence reports indicate that three South Africans were among fighters recently recruited by ISIS agents.
Omeri said: “Nigerians are known world over to be selfless, hospitable and humanitarian. We believe in the brotherhood of all mankind and no one should be allowed to take advantage of these virtues or turn them into vices.”
“Nigerians are therefore advised to report to security agencies without hesitation, any group or non-governmental agency whose overt or covert activities are suspicious or have tendencies to jeopardize the innocence of our youth and the security of our people wherever they are in the world.”
Futhermore, Omeri urged Nigerians to show more cooperation with security agencies, adding that the government is leaving no stone untouched in the fight against terror.
