An opinion poll organised by an online news platform, Sahara Reporters has darkened the hopes of a return of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to the Aso Rock Villa.
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan
The carnival-like reception that trailed last Thursday’s condolence
visit of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to Sokoto State
raised hopes of a possible return of the People's Democratic Party
chieftain in 2019.
The Ahmed Makarfi-led PDP claimed the Nigerian masses were yearning
for the return of Jonathan after suffering from economic recession
under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
This prompted Sahara Reporters to organise an online opinion poll
participated in by 5,316 Nigerians. 72% of the voters rejected the
Jonathan presidency, 18% of the voters were in support of his return
while 10% showed indifference.
