Jessica Welch Greene
Jessica Welch Greene, a high school teacher from North Carolina has
been arrested and charged with having s*x with a male student.
Greene, who teaches at Davie County High School, has been charged
with three counts of sexual activity with a student, according to the
Davie County Sheriff’s Office.
The boy’s age has not been revealed by authorities, but Greene is said to be a married mother of a young child.
The school received allegations on Dec. 1 that one of its teachers
was caught having s*x with a student, and alerted the sheriff’s office
the following day, reports the Daily Mail.
Investigators allege that s*x between Greene and the student took
place on and off campus between Nov. 1 and Dec. 1. On Dec. 12, the
teacher was suspended without pay.
In a statement, the school district said: “The safety of all of
our students continues to be a top priority. ... And we will continue
to partner with parents, our community, and law enforcement to maintain a
safe teaching and learning environment for the students we serve.”
Greene is currently in jail, with bail set at $15,000.
She is the second teacher in Davie County to be arrested this year
on similar charges. The other teacher, Shannon Wood, is a former coach
and teacher at Ellis Middle School. Before resigning in August, Wood was
arrested in September on charges of statutory rape of a child under 15,
and disseminating material harmful to a minor.
